By BBN Staff: Every year, March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s day.

The month of March is also celebrated as Women’s Month.

Women’s contributions to society stems from social, economic, cultural and political platforms.

Women across Belize were celebrated throughout the month by the Women’s Department.

Some of the events included Women’s forums, Annual Outstanding Women’s Awards ceremony, Women’s month bike rally and Girl’s rally across the country.

The theme this year was “Empowering Women in a Changing World: Planet 50:50 by year 2030!
