Police need help in identifying body found in Orange Walk

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, yesterday morning around 11:40Orange Walk Police visited a farm on the Millers Bight area in Orange Walk District where they saw the decomposed body of a male Hispanic person dressed in a black t-shirt and a blue, orange and white Hawaiian 3/4 pants with a brown buffalo brand shoes.

Police investigation revealed that at 9 am, a farmer went to his farm and smelled a stench which came from a cane field behind his property.

The man then visited the area and found the body.

Yesterday, between the hours of 4 and 5:30 p.m., a post mortem examination was conducted on the body of the unidentified male person which certified the cause of death to be fracture to the nasal bone (facial blunt force traumatic injuries), fracture to the right greater horn and bilateral lesser horns of the hyoid bone, and strangulation (unspecified type).

Police are investigating.
