Belmopan police and Ministry of Agriculture finalize Youth Engaged in Agriculture program

By BBN Staff: Yesterday, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture met with Belmopan Police to finalize plans for the 2nd annual Youth Engaged in Agriculture program.

The program will begin on July 31 and end on August 5, 2017.

An invitation is being extended to young people between the ages of 9 and 15 of the Belmopan Police jurisdiction to apply.

Children will learn about small scale vegetable farming, grafting and budding of fruit trees, cheese and salsa casera production, milk production, back yard gardening, tilapia and chicken rearing, corn and beans production, ice cream processing and horse husbandry.

Forms can be obtained at the Belmopan Police Station.

The week-long program will culminate with a Kids Rodeo at the National Agriculture and Trade Show Grounds.
Some additional features will include a children’s park and zip lining.
