At around 10:30 p.m. Corozal police visited an empty overgrown lot on 2nd Street North, Corozal Town.
A search of the lot led to the discovery of a black Springfield Armory gun case containing a homemade gun.
The gun was reportedly painted purple and built to fire 16 gauge cartridges.
No one was found in the immediate area and so the the homemade gun was labeled and deposited as found property.
