By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health issued a statement today informing the public that “a recent “NBZLive” Facebook post of August 24th, 2017 makes utterly false, destructive and defamatory accusations regarding the ownership of a pharmaceutical company, and the trade of pharmaceuticals, by the Minister of Health, Pablo Marin and his immediate family.”
In response to the allegations, the Ministry is advising that Allied Tech, the company referred to in the post, is registered as having its principals based in Ladyville, Belize.
Additional information can be provided by the Ministry upon request.
The Ministry has implemented rigorous legislative measures to ensure that safe, high-quality pharmaceuticals, in the required quantities, continue to be made available for all Ministry of Health facilities and that similar quality assurance measures are extended to the private sector. Pharmaceuticals are being imported into Belize by approximately 50 importers, and recent legislation ensures an increasingly transparent process in the Ministry’s regulation of pharmaceuticals, the pharmaceutical trade and the operation of pharmaceutical facilities.
The Ministry says that it seeks to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at every level and remains committed to safeguarding the health of all.
