By Zoila Palma: This morning, Officer Commanding Belmopan Police, Sr. Supt. Howell Gillett informed that Belmopan police officers have recovered 95 percent of the jewelry that was stolen from First Stop pawn shop this week.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning. Alexia Neal, 24, manager of the pawn shop had reported that while she was at her business with another co-worker, two men; one of a fair complexion and the other of a dark complexion entered the Pawn Shop.
Neal says one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded that she open the bar gate.
She opened the gate and the men stole $8,500 cash and $51,000 worth of assorted gold jewelries. They also took a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge valued at $1,400.
Gillett says that the officers will be commended for their work on a date to be announced.
