GOB backtracks on fuel prices

BBN Staff:The Belize Bureau of Standards (BBS) has just issued new gas prices effective midnight tonight.

Regular and diesel are being hiked by 41 cents and 69 cents respectively.

Regular fuel goes from $10.65 to $11.06 per gallon.

Diesel goes from $10.01 to $10.70 per gallon.

Premium remains at $11.39 per gallon and kersone remains at $7.87 per gallon.

On April 4, butane prices were hiked by a whopping $10 more per 100 pounds cylinder.

Update: 4:25 p.m.

This afternoon at 4:08, the Belize Bureau of Standards (BBS) issued a release indicating an increase in the prices Regular and Diesel fuels scheduled to be implemented tomorrow, however, minutes after that release was sent out, the Ministry of Finance recalled the release and clarified that gas prices will not increase tomorrow .

The Ministry apologized for the inconvenience caused.
