SSB meets with PUP leader to discuss increase in contributions

BBN Staff:  For weeks, news has circulated that the Social Security Board (SSB) has intentions of increasing the contributions from workers.

People’s United Party (PUP) Leader, John Briceno, today confirmed that he has met with some members of the SSB who presented, “A troubling view of Social Security in the years to come.”

He confirmed that those representatives said that the SSB would need to increase contributions to remain afloat.

However, Briceno said he is unable to take an official position on this matter as he first hopes to have the SSB make a presentation to the PUP’s National Executive and parliamentarians.

Once this is done, the party will then formulate its position.
