Ministry of National Security holds crime prevention meeting in Albert Constituency

By BBN Staff:  The Ministry of National Security and the Belize Police Department hosted a joint meeting today for the business community in the Albert Division of Belize City.

The meeting was convened at the John and Charles Wesley Center to discuss crime prevention and the launch of Operation Safe Zone after several recent incidents in the area.

The meeting included addresses from the Minister of National Security, John Saldivar and the Area Representative for the Albert Division, Tracy Taegar-Panton. Also present at the meeting was Mayor of Belize City, Bernard Wagner.

Commissioner of Police, Allen Whylie and Deputy Commissioner, Clyde Williams also made presentations on the current crime situation, and shared details of the Police Department’s National Crime Strategy, which was launched earlier this year.

Members of the business community engaged in the discussion, provided their feedback and shared ideas with the panel on a holistic approach to addressing the crime situation in the area.
