San Ignacio’s Marcia Moody to represent Belize at Costa Maya 2018

By BBN Staff:  Belizeans are preparing for the annual Costa Maya Festival to be held in San Pedro Town commencing on August 2, 2018.

San Ignacio’s Marcia Melanie Moody, Queen of the West 2012 will represent Belize for the La Reina de La Costa Maya Pageant 2018.

Moody has participated in the 2012 Queen of the Bay Pageant, the Miss West Indies Belize and was the 1st runner-up in the 2016 Miss Universe Belize pageant.

Moody joins other contestants from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua and Guatemala.

The pageant will be held at the Louis Sylvester Sporting Complex in San Pedro Town on Friday, August 3, 2018.

The current queen of the Costa Maya is Michelle Estrella Nunez from San Pedro.

Special performances at this year’s event include Grupo Crash from El Salvador, Belize’s Chico Ramos and Sweet Pain band.

Official opening ceremonies and pageant preliminaries will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018.

Other special performances include Youth Connection Band, alongside Ernestine Carballo and Dawgy and DJ Patron.

On Saturday, August 4, 2018, Noche Internacional will feature the Queen of Reggaeton, Ivy Queen.

Ticket prices for the event are as follows:

Season passes for Adults is $120 and Children $70

Thursday – Opening Night/ Pageant Preliminaries: Adults $20, Children $10

Friday – International Costa Maya Pageant: Adults $50, Children $30

Saturday – International Night/Ivy Queen: Adults $70, Children $40

Sunday – Festival at the Field: Free
