British High Commissioner issues statement on brutal murder of Richard Foster

By BBN Staff: Today, the British High Commissioner, Peter Hughes issued a recorded statement on the brutal murder of British National Richard Foster.

In his statement, the commissioner said, “The brutal murder of Foster has come as a massive shock to all the people in Belize who knew him. This is a horrible crime, our hearts go out to his family particularly his wife, Carol at this incredibly difficult time.”

He further added that the British High Commission is in contact with Belizean authorities however at this time, they cannot release more details on the murder since it is an on-going investigation.

Foster, a popular and talented filmmaker made Belize his home for over three decades.

He was reported missing on Tuesday morning of this week and in the night, his body was found in Belmopan. Police believe that Foster was robbed at home and then kidnapped.

Yesterday, Crime Stoppers Belize issued a reward bulletin for $1,000 for anyone who can lead authorities to the arrest and charge of the culprit/s responsible for killing Foster.
