Alta Vista villager killed in hit and run

By BBN Staff: Alta Vista villager, David Cunil, 44, is dead after an evening socializing with friends.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, Cunil was found dead on the roadside in the village at around 9 pm on Saturday.

It is believed that he was walking on the road making his way home when a vehicle ran over him, crushing his head and causing severe body injuries.

However, the driver of the vehicle never stopped to provide any assistance.

Dangriga police have detained one man who they believe can assist in closing this case.

In the meantime, Cunil’s body remains at the Southern Regional Hospital awaiting a post-mortem examination.
