Man charged for robbing Pacheco’s Jewelry Shop

By BBN Staff:Belize City police have charged, Delroy Rodrick Chaplin, 32, for robbing Pacheco’s Jewelry Shop in Belize City last week.

Authorities are also looking for another suspect.

Police believe that Chaplin was one of two men who entered Pacheco’s Jewelry Shop on East Collet Canal and robbed it of its jewelry valued at $35,000.

The incident occurred shortly after midday on Friday when the manager, Brittney Myers was on duty.

Fortunately, no one was harmed and due to quick police work, officers were able to nab Chaplin along with the jewelry in question.

Earlier this year this same jewelry shop made headline news when its owner, Manuel Pacheco, was charged with the shooting death of his neighbor, Jose Villanueva.

According to police, the shooting was the result of a long-standing dispute among the two neighbors.
