Kim Simplis Barrow conferred with the Friendship Medal of Diplomacy from Taiwan

BBN Staff: Today, Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen conferred to the Special Envoy for Women & Children, Kim Simplis Barrow, the Friendship Medal of Diplomacy.

The friendship medal was awarded to Barrow on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), in recognition of her remarkable contributions to promoting relations between Belize and Taiwan.

“The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has a deep admiration for Barrow and her contribution in protecting the rights for women and children both in Belize and internationally,” a statement from the Embassy said.

The Embassy stated that it is proud to have worked closely with Barrow and local NGOs to empower women in pursuing their goals in life and in safeguarding the interest of children for a better future.
