By BBN Staff: Tonight the Belize City Council held its first public meeting.
The event was held at St. John’s Vianney Primary School and saw the turnout of more than 100 constituents of Port Loyola.
In his welcome remarks, Mayor Bernard Wagner spoke briefly about some of the council’s success and challenges.
Those successes include physical and social infrastructure.
Mayor Wagner reminded his audience that his team had launched its manifesto in Port Loyola and so it was only fitting that Port Loyola be the venue for the first public meeting.
The audience was then able to share concerns and pose questions to the mayor and his team.
The majority of the concerns were drainage and sanitation related.
Mayor Wagner pledged that these concerns would be addressed within the next month.
