The observation of the month aims at strengthening competitiveness in the private sector through the enabling environment created by the Government of Belize.

Competitiveness can be conceptualized as a country’s ability to develop goods and services that will not only be able to meet the test of domestic and international markets but also, improve the real income and raise the welfare of its people.

The Ministry acknowledges that competitiveness plays an important role in the prosperity and development of a country.

As a result, there will be a series of activities throughout the month of May, including trade and investment presentations and informational sessions to students, town hall discussions, art competitions, energy efficiency training workshops, and an entrepreneurship networking event.
