Transport Minister meets with bus association to discuss urgent concerns

By BBN Staff: Minister of Transport Edmond Castro today met with members of the Belizean Bus Association to discuss pressing concerns with relation to transit by foreign buses particularly from across the western border.

The meeting was requested by members of the association who took their concerns to Castro and offered proposals to resolve the issues for the benefit of all operators.

Castro accepted their proposals in principle, pending further discussions with the Ministry of Tourism and the Department of Transport.

President of the Belizean Bus Association, Thomas Shaw, who also represents local bus owners countrywide on the Transport Board, described the meeting as open and constructive, saying they are optimistic that the matters discussed will be addressed in a satisfactory manner.
