Belize to participate in Fuerzas Comando Military competition

 By BBN Staff: Belize is one of 20 countries that will be participating in the Fuerzas Comando 2019 military competition which will be held in Santiago, Chile from June 17-27, 2019.

The event will feature special operations from law enforcement and military teams from Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and the United States.

The competition will test teams in areas such as physical fitness, weapons marksmanship, and tactical capabilities. The event will also feature a senior leadership seminar, which will be running parallel to the competition. At the seminar, senior government and military officials will discuss opportunities for regional cooperation.

 The opening ceremony for the competition be held on will be held on June 17 at the Brigada de Operaciones Especiales “Lautaro” Ejercito de Chile, and the event will conclude with an award ceremony to recognize the top team in each category during the closing ceremony on June 27.
