By BBN Staff: The Taiwan Embassy in Belize today announced that it is once again partnering with The Inspiration Center to bring more love and hope to the caring of the Belizean children in need.
Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen, on behalf of the government and people of Taiwan, was invited by Special Envoy for women and children, Kim Simplis Barrow to jointly launch the 2019 projects focused on Community-Based Rehabilitation, Public Education and Awareness, and Staff Capacity Building in a ceremony held at the center earlier today.
The Government of Taiwan is a proud sponsor of the project.
Since The Inspiration Center’s inception in 2014, Taiwan has been a great supporter sharing the same goal of providing children the attention, care, stimulation and opportunities for participation and decision-making; essential elements for their growth and holistic development in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
For the first time in Belize, the children have access to speech & vital stim therapy, physical therapy, poseti & tendon stretching treatment, hearing screening, medical evaluations, as well as the services of rehabilitation fields officers and social workers.
The highlighted community-based rehabilitation in the 2019 project will take more services of the center right into the living rooms of children countrywide, directly involving their families in the treatment process.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belize and Taiwan.
As a vital partner for many humanitarian and charity oriented programs or institutions in Belize, the Embassy pledges to continue to work with the government and people of Belize to further enhance their cooperation in the field of education and the well-being of young generations.
