Award winning Belizean product, Truly Turmeric, being exported to CARICOM

By BBN Staff : The world’s first manufacturers of fresh turmeric paste, Naledo Belize, announced that their award winning Truly Turmeric will now be exported to CARICOM countries.

Naledo Belize was established in 2016 and the company is owned by Umeeda Switlo.

Naledo produces a high-quality turmeric paste from a yellow ginger base, which is processed from farm to shelf in the Toledo District in southern Belize.

The company uses as much locally sourced ingredients in its paste, including limes, cold-pressed coconut oil and black pepper.

Naledo had already been exporting its product to Canada, Bahamas and the United States of America.

Switlo said that exporting to CARICOM countries is a big step for Naledo.

“This is a big step for Naledo. We wanted to ensure that Belizeans all over the country could buy our high quality and healthy turmeric paste. We recently went to Trinidad and met with owners of Karibbean Flavours and were really impressed with their operations. We look forward to more of our product being available in the CARICOM,” Switlo stated.

The company, structured with the principles of a social enterprise, operates by its creed “Better Business, Better Lives”.

The product is available at their new distributor, Karibbean Flavours and Madisco in Belize.

Truly Turmeric aims to continue focusing on Toledo, contributing to its economic development and export diversification.
