San Ignacio police thwart robbery

By BBN Staff: San Ignacio police were conducting patrol on San Pedro street in Santa Elena when officers noticed a green car with taxi license plates in the area.

When the occupants of the vehicle saw the police, they threw an object from the vehicle.

Police searched the immediate area and found a .38 special revolver with five live .38 special rounds.

Authorities believe that the occupants of the vehicle were heading to commit a robbery.

All occupants were detained pending charges.
