PUP dominates village elections countrywide

By BBN Staff: The Opposition, People’s United Party (PUP), in a press release issued today, declares that it dominated the recent village council elections.

The final round of village council elections was held over the weekend for 5 villages in the Cayo district. Georgeville, Bullet Tree and Santa Familia were major battlegrounds. The PUP reports that they won 2 of the 5 villages, and conceded that the UDP won the other 3.

At the end of the countrywide village council elections, the PUP is claiming victory in 97 villages while, according to the PUP release, the UDP won 75 villages and Independents won 18 villages.

The release ends by congratulating all candidates who contested the elections, particularly the 690 PUP candidates who were victorious.
