Football Federation of Belize cancels all upcoming tournaments

By BBN Staff: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) announced today that it has, with immediate effect, postponed all upcoming tournaments until further notice.

The FFB said that the decision to postpone the games was made following the Government of Belize’s newly-implemented measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We take this opportunity to thank all participants for their support and dedication in all FFB activities but remind the general public that the health and welfare of all our stakeholders remains a pertinent concern,” the FFB said The federation also said that it will be monitoring the developments regarding the outbreak and urge all stakeholders to stay updated with the upcoming events.

The FFB’s decision is the latest cancellation of mass gatherings amidst COVID-19 concerns. Concerts, sporting events, and even schools are all closing their doors for a set period of time, in light of the ongoing pandemic.
