Posted: Sunday, March 22, 2020. 12:51 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: As the COVID-19 global pandemic continues, Grenada has become the latest country to announce its first case.

Authorities in Grenada announced today that a pregnant woman who traveled from the United Kingdom on March 16 has tested positive for the virus, after beginning to show symptoms on the 17th. Officials say that they have the patient in isolation and they have begun contact racing efforts.

Grenada is one of the last countries that had not reported a positive case, despite the virus being discovered in 177 countries and territories globally, with over 300,000 confirmed infections.

Of the 193 United Nations member countries, Belize is one of the 16 countries that have not reported a confirmed case.
