Leader of the Opposition:  ‘real risk’ prompted declaration

By Aaron Humes: Opposition Leader John Briceno says Belizeans should work toward ending the 30-day state of emergency that starts on Wednesday as soon as possible by following guidelines.

Briceno said a real risk existed and after consulting the experts it was determined that the state of emergency was necessary.

He committed to ensuring that all who deserve the funds available for economic recovery will get it, avoiding political corruption.

And he reminded that when it’s all over, Belize must be able to look at itself and be proud of our response to this crisis.
