Director of Health services warns against selling of hydroxychloroquine without prescription; warns of revocation of licenses

By BBN Staff: The Office of the Director of Health Service informed today that there have been several reports on individuals now procuring from certain pharmacies, two medications: hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.

The public is reminded that these medications can and should not be sold without a prescription.

Both medications when used inadequately can have serious side effects so they should not be used by the population UNLESS approved and authorized by your treating doctor.

In addition, health officials note that there is no registration of any hydroxychloroquine being imported via the official channels into the country for this year.

The Ministry of Health is calling on any pharmacy selling the above to desist immediately and ANY pharmacy conducting such sales will have their Ministry of Health license revoked immediately.
