By Aaron Humes: The seasonably hot, dry and hazy weather is expected to continue all weekend according to the National Meteorological Service.

The Weather Bureau advises that as warm conditions prevail, residents in the interior especially are advised to avoid direct sunlight as much as possible and stay hydrated. There remains a high risk of forest and brush fires.

Skies will be mostly sunny today and clear to partly cloudy tonight with little or no rainfall. Temperatures peak at 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 96 over most inland areas and 84 in the hills. Tonight, lows will be 81 degrees over the coast, 73 in inland areas and 68 in the hills.

Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots and sea state is moderate.

Tides will be low at 1:34 pm this afternoon, then high at 7:40 this evening and low overnight at 2:16 am.

The sun sets at 6:09 pm and rises 5:33 am Sunday, while the moon sets at 2:53 pm this afternoon.

Current weather conditions are set to continue through Sunday.

Our thanks to forecaster Ronald Gordon at the Met Service in Ladyville.
