Posted: Wednesday, May 6, 2020. 10:35 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Merisa Pate, 22, yesterday visited the Punta Gorda Police Station and reported that on Monday she was at home on a video call and simultaneously cooking when her attention was drawn to her roommate Ashleigh Lance.

Lance was being escorted inside the house at gunpoint by a slim dark-skinned man without mask demanding money.

Pate reportedly handed the intruder her purse, which had in an unknown amount of money.

During the process the robber started to demand more money but Pate shouted there was no more money and that the robber could take anything that he wanted from the house.

As a result, the robber hit her with the gun to her left side of her upper lip causing it to bleed.

The robber then took a Lenovo laptop computer valued at $600; a blue kindle fire tablet valued at $200; a Blu Dash 4 cell phone valued at $75; a rose gold Fossil wrist watch valued $250; a gold wedding ring valued at 2,000; and a small circular black JBL Bluetooth speaker with an orange clip valued $80.

The total value of the items stood at $3,205.

Thereafter the robber fled the scene.
