Tropical wave crossing the country

The National Meteorological Service of Belize says that a tropical wave is crossing the country producing moist and unstable weather conditions today.

The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy skies with a few showers and thunderstorms over most areas today, eventually decreasing with a few more over southern and some coastal areas tonight.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 92 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing East-Southeast between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be moderate-rough.

A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near showers and thunderstorms.

High tide will come in at 11:27 a.m. and low tide will occur at 6:31 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:23 p.m. and the moon will rise at 8:46 p.m.
