Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez: “We need a Center for Disease Control”

By Aaron Humes: Former area representative for Orange Walk East and head of the PUP Working Committee on Health, Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez, says primary healthcare is at the center of the party’s policy, being unveiled today.

Dr. Mendez called for a U.S.-style Center for Disease Control to tackle key diseases ravaging the population.

Meanwhile, Cayo Northeast representative Landy Habet said universal primary health care for all is the party’s goal, by 2025, in an integrated national system.

Habet promised targeting healthy lifestyles for children and adults, more medicines for the population and putting health of the population at the center of a revitalized Belize.
