Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduces Belize’s international team for International Court of Justice

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Belizeans yesterday that it received Guatemala’s memorial in relation to Guatemala’s territorial, insular and maritime claim to Belize’s territory at the ICJ.

The Ministry noted that Belize’s agent at the ICJ is Assad Shoman and co-agent is Alexis Rosado.

Belize’s international team is comprised of Senior Counsel Sam Wordsworth QC, Ben Juratowith QC and Mathias Forteau; Junior Counsel Amy Sander, Philippa Webb and Kate Parlett; support Counsel Catherine Drummond and Jamie Trinidad and Hydrographer/Geographer Robin Cleverly. 

Eamon H. Courtenay SC and Leslie Mendez represents the Government in this process.

Leader of the Opposition, Patrick Faber has named Michael Peyrefitte and Godwin Hulse as representatives of the Opposition who will remain fully engaged and informed of the process.
