Three more dead, over 120 new infections as COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage Belize

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ latest COVID-19 update says that three more Belizeans have lost their lives to the virus, while over 120 others have been newly-infected.

The latest three deaths puts the country total at 195, with a fatality rate of 2.10.

The 122 newly confirmed cases from a sample batch of 408, puts the total number of confirmed infections at 9.295. There are another 1,535 cases under investigation.

“…the Ministry of Health and Wellness urges the public to wear a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often. Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business,” the Ministry said.

There were also 42 new recoveries.
