By BBN Staff: Doctor Peter Young was re-elected president of the Belize National Cricket Association (BNCA) on Sunday.
The cricket election was held during the virtual cricket association’s annual general meeting. Young returns to serve the association for the next two years.
Accompanying him in the BNCA executive body are vice president Daphne McFadzean, secretary Gayle Thompson, treasurer Diane Baldwin, assistant secretary John Gillett, assistant treasurer Steve McFadzean and councilor Mrs. Vincent Parks.
BNCA Public Relations officer Peter Young said the BNCA plans to reactivate cricket once they get the go-ahead from the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Before starting a new championship, however, they plan to finish the 2020 championship that was suspended due to COVID-19.
The BNCA has been organizing scoring sessions to train its members to facilitate live scores through the internet when the championship continues.
