One held for Saturday night murder in Belize City

By Aaron Humes: 21-year-old Kevaughan Morris of Allan Pitts Crescent, Belize City, is the Old Capital’s latest murder victim after being shot Saturday night at the Wilton Cumberbatch Field on Caesar Ridge Road. A minor has reportedly been detained in connection with the apparent murder.

Police say Morris and another man were sitting on the fence inside the field, facing Kraal Road when they were fired upon. Morris sustained several gunshot wounds to the body and was rushed to hospital, where he died undergoing treatment. The other person was not reported with any injuries by police.

Police are investigating and have detained one person, reportedly a minor, for questioning.
