Ana Lopez wins the Power Run: Celebrating Women Virtual 5K Run/Walk hosted by SHINE and Baby Earth

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Ana Lopez, who ran in Esperanza, won the Power Run: Celebrating Women Virtual 5K Run/Walk hosted by SHINE and Baby Earth in 21 minutes, 10 seconds, improving on her Baby Leonel 5K victory last week by 12 seconds.

The Power run was done from March 24 to 28. Virtual races are done either in one day or more. Runners race on their own on any of the given days and upload their results to a website. After the deadline those results are collated and it’s until then that the winner is known.

Ester Samayoa of the Shuga City Run Club was second clocking 25:15 in Carmelita.

Third place was taken by Westrac’s Roxana Lemus in San Ignacio in 26:22.

Running Sisters’ Lilly Waight in Orange Walk was fourth in 27:40 followed in 5th place by Nazle Westby of the Splash Running Club in Placencia with a time of 27:52.

The next five were: Powered by Plants’ Lucelly Ramos, 28:13 (6th) in Belize City, Shuga City’s Stacey Pelayo, 28:15 (7th), San Pedro’s Wod Zone’s Ingrid Lima, 28:15 (7th), FitLife501’s Dianela Yama, 29.56 (9th) in Orange Walk, and Consuelo Habet, 30:21 (10th) in San Ignacio.

Forty-nine of 62 runners completed the event.
