Wasani Castro wins Sunny King Criterium in Alabama, US

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belizean Wasani Castro of team Project BZE won the Sunny King Criterium in Anniston, Alabama today, in impressive fashion as he beat four other riders in an uphill sprint.

“Wasani Castro takes over … Castro sprinting like a dream up the hill here, out of the saddle,” said the race announcer as he described Castro’s move.

A good distance from the upward finish-line, Castro attacked and was able to hold on to the lead opening a sizeable gap at the end to win the Category 3/4 race in 41 minutes flat. The others four riders recorded the same time as well.

Castro along with brother Jafari and Henry Li have been racing over the last couple of weeks in the USA national criteriums and have been doing well.
