More than 3 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses administered around the world

By Zoila Palma: More than 3 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered around the world, Bloomberg reports.

This means that just about 20% of the global population has received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

It is the largest vaccination campaign in history with a rate of 39 million doses administered per day.

Over 180 countries around the world continue to vaccinate their populations to protect themselves against COVID-19.

The World Health Organization (WHO)’s vaccine sharing facility, COVAX continue to provide vaccines to lower income countries.

Most of the COVID-19 vaccines require 2 doses to be fully vaccinated.

In Belize, the Ministry of Health and Wellness is using the Sinopharm and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

To date, over 33,000 Belizeans have been fully vaccinated.
