By BBN Staff: The number of reported COVID-19 cases in Belize has gone over 15,000 with over 160 new infections reported today.

The latest national report, which covered the period august 14-16, showed 164 new cases detected from among 2,436 tests.

Of the new cases, 83 were female and 80 were males.

The positivity rate for the four-day period stood at 6.81.

The new infections bring the national total for reported cases to 15,010.

There were no new deaths associated with the virus.
