By Benjamin Flowers: More than 1,200 Belizeans are currently infected with COVID-19, says the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The Ministry’s latest COVID-19 daily report shows that active cases in the country are now at 1,205.

Active infections are split between 619 females and 586 males.

Health authorities also have an additional 366 suspected cases under investigation.

Hospitalizations due to the virus continue to climb, with 32 patients receiving care in standard COVID-19 units across the country, and six patients receiving critical care in an intensive care unit (ICU).

There were 78 new recoveries from COVID-19 bringing the national total for recoveries up to 15,161.
