By Aaron Humes: Police acted quickly to pick up two suspects in the armed hold-up of the accountant for Western Dairies Limited, Spanish Lookout, who was on her way to deposit sales money at the local credit union.
A 16 year old minor and a 34-year-old face charges of robbery and keeping firearms and ammunition without permission.
25-year-old Beronica Catalan was on a motorcycle when she noticed two men following her. On arriving at the Farmers Trading Center compound she was approached at gunpoint by one of the armed men.
He grabbed her bag containing a large amount in cash and cheques and escaped on the motorbike with his Hispanic companion.
But police near Branch Mouth Road on patrol intercepted two men and found the bag matching the one stolen with most of the money still inside and the .357 weapon believed used to hold up Catalan.
