Active COVID-19 cases over 2,800; Could soon be 3,000

By BBN Staff: There are over 2,800 people currently infected with COVID-19 in Belize, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness; however, the number could soon be at 3,000.

The reports are that there are 2,866 Belizeans who have active COVID-19 infections, with another 348 suspected cases under investigation.

Hospitalizations due to the virus have gone back up to 46 – 17 of those patients admitted to the intensive care unit.

The MOHW also reported that 232 new patients have recovered from their infection, bringing the national total for recoveries up to 21,403.

The national recovery rate was adjusted to 86.4.
