BTB awards tour guide scholarships to 15 Belizeans

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) awarded scholarships to 15 Belizeans for their participation in the National Tour Guide Course in Cayo and Belize City, respectively said a BTB statement on social media.

Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations Anthony Mahler made the presentation on behalf of the BTB.

“This year’s BTB scholarship recipients include five participants from Cayo and ten participants from Belize City,” said the BTB.

“The scholarships valued at $18,400.00, aim to support the development of qualified Belizean Tour Guides through completion of the National Tour Guide Program.”

BTB said the scholarships covers cost of course, manuals, and internships.

“The scholarship awards represent the BTB’s unwavering commitment to the development of our dynamic tourism industry while at the same time fostering educational opportunities for Belizeans,” noted the BTB.
