Myrna Manzanares, author and cultural activist, dies at age 75

By BBN Staff: Breaking Belize News has confirmed that former president of the National Kriol Council Mryna Manzanares has died.

After being hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital since December 15, Manzanares passed away around 1:40 a.m.

The exact cause of her hospitalization was unknown and tests were being run up to her death in an effort to determine what exactly was the problem.

Belize has truly suffered a great loss. Our prayers and sincerest condolences are with the family and friends of the late Myrna Manzanares at this time.

May she rest in peace.
