Belize City adds nearly 100 new cases over Christmas weekend

By Aaron Humes: A surge in COVID-19 cases over the weekend has greatly affected the Old Capital.

Belize City reported 97 new cases in three days, more than 30 per day, with the mainland Belize District as a whole reporting 111 total new cases and San Pedro Town another 10.

The north reported 38 new cases, 27 of those between Corozal Town (12) and Orange Walk Town (15).

Out west, there were 40 new cases in Cayo including 15 in Belmopan, nine in the Twin Towns and eight in Benque Viejo.

And down south, Stann Creek District reported 28 new cases including 12 in Dangriga, six in Placencia and two in Independence. And in Toledo four new cases were reported including three in Punta Gorda Town.
