Central Belize continues to be center of new COVID-19 cases

By Aaron Humes: Between them the San Pedro, mainland Belize and Cayo District reporting areas comprised 425 of today’s 735 new cases.

There were 221 new cases in Cayo, including 46 in San Ignacio and 21 in Santa Elena, 41 in Belmopan and 24 in Benque Viejo.

Belize City reported 128 cases, Ladyville 16 and San Pedro 24.

Up north, Orange Walk Town reported 61 of 106 new cases and Corozal Town 38 of 86, while down south, Dangriga reported 22 and Independence 16 of 65 new cases and Bella Vista (21) reported more new cases than Punta Gorda Town (13) of 53 new cases across the Stann Creek District.
