Caribbean Rum Boyz routed the Calcutta Bulls 7-1 in Orange Walk

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Orange Walk First Division champs Caribbean Rum Boyz trounced the Corozal Pelicans 7-1 in the first of two home and away encounters organized between the Mayors of Orange Walk and Corozal, Ladrick Sheppard, and Rigo Vellos respectively.

The other match played on Sunday at the Louisiana Government School football field ended in a 0-0 draw between Orange Walk subchamps Guinea Grass and the Corozal Pelicans.

In the Caribbean Rum Boyz 7-1 win over the Calcutta Bulls, Andir Chi scored a brace and Alwin Zelaya, Camilo Sanchez, Nazim Melana, Raheim Eagan, and Enrique Valdez scored one each.

Joshua Villanueva converted the Calcutta Bulls’ only goal when the game was 5-0 in favour of the Orange Walk side.

The teams will play return matches in Corozal on Sunday, February 20.

The winners of both home and away encounters will win $500 each courtesy of the two mayors.

Of note, while Orange Walk is represented by their First Division champs and subchamps, Corozal is not.
