Minister of State Gilroy Usher warns of fake Instagram profile bearing his name

By Benjamin Flowers: Minister of State in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics, Gilroy Usher is warning that a fake Instagram profile bearing his name and image has been contacting people.

Usher took to his personal Facebook profile this morning, sharing screenshots and warning that the profile is reaching out to people intending to scam them.

“I do not have an Instagram account. The Instagram account with my name and picture is a fake by con artists. Don’t respond to it.”

These fake profiles pop up from time to time and several prominent individuals have had to issue warnings about them.

Last month Minister of Public Utilities and Logistics Michel Chebat, who was the Minister of Health and Wellness at the time, also issued a warning of a fake Instagram profile contacting people with a scam.
