C-Ray’s Goran Gabourel wins Men’s Junior/Youth Digi Valentine’s Cycling Tour

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Goran Gabourel of the C-Ray Cycling Club won the Men’s Junior/Youth 2022 Digi Valentine’s Cycling Tour staged by the Cycling Federation of Belize in 4 hours, seven minutes, and 20 seconds (4:07:20).

Chavarria/Western Spirits’ Tyler Tejeda was second place in 4:07:53 while G-Flow’s Renan Codd finished in third place in 4:07:58.

Gabourel won the Men’s Junior/Youth 3.6-mile prologue on the John Smith Road in 8 minutes and 15 seconds (8:15) on Saturday. Codd was second in 8:24. Tejada finished third in 8:44. He was also the first Youth rider.

On Saturday afternoon, Gabourel won the second stage’s 30-mile race on the Bermudian Landing circuit in 1:28:00. Tejeda finished second in 1:28:06. He was also the first Youth rider. Codd took third in 1:28:24.

Tejeda finished tops in the 51-mile race on the George Price Highway, the Boom Road, and the Philip Goldson Highway on Sunday. He led a three-man sprint, finishing in 2:31:25. He was also the first Youth rider. Gabourel was second and Codd took third with the same time.

Tejeda won the overall Youth Category followed by Travis Grinage in second and Evrit Matute in third.
