Ministry of Agriculture donates seedlings to Ministry of Education to distribute to schools in the Belize District

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Entertainment (MAFSE) continues its seedling distribution program, particularly aimed at supporting gardening in schools.

On Friday morning, the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Canadian Fund for Local Initiative handed over seedlings to Ivone Codd from the Ministry of Education.

MAFSE said the seedlings are to be distributed to selected schools in the Belize District.

The Horticulture Unit of the Agriculture Ministry prepares the seedlings at Central Farm under the guidance of National Program Coordinator Gary Ramirez and then distributes them to farmers and schools throughout the country.
