Hol Chan Marine Reserve organizes Lionfish Tournament

“Are you adventurous?? Then join us in the lionfish tournament Sunday May 22nd 2022. Organize your teams, sign up and win great prizes!!!” said the Hol Chan Marine Reserve inviting divers to join the competition.

The Hol Chan Marine Reserve said the Lionfish Tournament is an all-day expedition to hunt for lionfish. Teams are allowed a maximum of five divers and one captain.

The grand prize is $1,000. Second prize is $700 and third, $450. The divers who turn in the largest and smallest lionfish earn $250 for either.

The tournament starts at 6:00 am. The weigh-in station at Boca del Rio Park will open at 2:00 pm and close at 4:00 pm.
